Democratic Erosion

During the 2017-18 academic year I will be coordinating a cross-university collaborative course on “Democratic Erosion” that will be taught more or less simultaneously at roughly two dozen universities across the US. The course aims to give students (and faculty) an opportunity to engage, critically and carefully, with the claims they have doubtlessly already heard about the state of democracy in the US and Europe; to evaluate whether those claims are valid; and, if they are, to consider strategies for mitigating the risk of democratic erosion here and abroad. More information on the project can be found here, and a slightly more detailed course description is below. A syllabus will be posted soon. If you’re interested in participating in the collaboration, please email me.
