Democratic Erosion

During the 2017-18 academic year I am coordinating a cross-university collaborative course on “Democratic Erosion” that will be taught more or less simultaneously at over a dozen universities across the US. The course aims to give students (and faculty) an opportunity to critically engage with the claims they have doubtlessly already heard about the threats to democracy in the US and elsewhere; to evaluate whether those claims are valid; and, if they are, to consider strategies for mitigating the risk of democratic erosion here and abroad. More information on the project (including the syllabus and a cross-university blog) is on our course website. If you’re interested in participating in the collaboration, please email me.
